Darwin leather is the fabric of Mulberry's history, a thick, pebbled hide tanned in Somerset that defined the brand through the 1990s and early 2000s. Pre-2005 pieces like this one were made before production moved overseas, and the quality shows: the leather is substantial, the stitching tight, and the brass hardware has that satisfying weight you don't find on newer bags.
This belted tote is a proper workhorse wide enough to take a laptop or A4 folder, with a structured base and open top that makes it genuinely easy to use every day. The belted front strap detail is classic Mulberry of the era. In black with brass hardware it's as versatile as a bag gets.
